Anti-Environment

IF YOU LOVE BIG OIL AND THE BUSH/CHENEY RECORD ON THE ENVIRONMENT, YOU’LL LOVE MS. PALIN.

Ms. Palin promises to be more of Bush-Cheney on energy, embracing big-oil
As we type, big oil companies are jumping for joy. Ms. Palin is suing the Bush Administration over the decision to place polar bears on the Endangered Species list. Why, you ask, would go to the time and expense of doing this? Because the bears’ protected status will hamper drilling for oil and gas. Oh, no, not that. Instead of spending her time and the Alaska’s ridiculously high per-capita federal earmarks developing new, green, energy independent technologies, Ms. Palin sued the Bush Administration to help the one industrial sector least in need of any help – Big Oil. Ms. Palin justified her position by rejecting as unreliable climate models predicting the continued loss of sea ice - the main habitat of polar bears. Ms. Palin’s attorney general, Steven Daugherty, explained: “We believe that the listing was unwarranted and that it is unprecedented to list a currently healthy population based on uncertain climate models.” [SOURCE: "Protecting polar bears gets in way of drilling for oil, says governor," The Times of London, May 23, 2008]

Ms. Palin does not believe in the science of global warming.

The polar bears are really just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. As stated above, Ms. Palin does not believe that global warning is man made. See “Palin buys climate denial ignores science,” Huffington Post, August 29, 2008. Accordingly, it is no surprise that the UK Independent described Ms. Palin’s environmental policies as “so toxic it would make the incumbent, George Bush, blush.” See www.independent.co.uk (noted here).
